Sylvie grew up in Kolda in southern Senegal. Since she was very young, she has been fighting for girls’ rights against female genital mutilation. She denounced her grandmother who participated in it. She prevented the marriage of her cousin at 13 years old and goes from village to village to do sex education. She hosted a radio show for teenagers. She is pursuing her law studies in Dakar.
