Amir grew up in the Al Shat campi near the beach in Gaza. At the age of 18, he heard the French language at college and decided to learn it. Four years later, he was already writing poems in French and winning prizes. At the age of 20, he got out of the Gaza Strip for the first time. Subsequently, he received a scholarship and taught Arabic language at Henry IV High School as an assistant for 2 years. Today he teaches Arabic at Sciences Po and continues to write poetry. He works for the association Coup de Soleil.
